Yes cedar may be less expensive initially but the overall cost of maintenance to keep it looking good will bring up the cost to what a low maintenance Vinyl fence would cost you. Cedar has no warranty and who wants to spend there time staining, pounding nail back in, and watching as the fence warps and rots.
