Severns and his wife, Jennifer, have made the Summit-Waller area their home, where they are devoted members of the community. Together, they have built local businesses in housing and insurance. He and his wife are both active in their local church, where Severns leads an addiction-recovery ministry and teaches Sunday school; he is also the treasurer of Family Promise of Pierce County, a non profit that helps families experiencing homelessness.
