stands for
Systematic – Literacy skills are purposefully organized and explicitly taught. Engaging – Children are motivated to learn by participating in playful, meaningful activities. Early – Activities and lessons are consistent with developmental characteristics of young children, adapted according to individual needs. Literacy – Children acquire foundational literacy skills that lead to later reading and writing success.

What does a SEEL literacy night look like?
The theme was “Let’s Pretend to Go Shopping!” Children visited 4 different stations: Hop to Shop, visit Barbara’s Best Bakery, Cava con Cajas (Dig with Boxes), and make pretend tacos at the Tienda de Tacos (Taco Shop). 🥖🛒📖

SEEL founder Barbara Culatta travelled to Bolivia in July. Giving presentations in both English and Spanish, she shared SEEL lessons and principles with teachers of both English and Spanish. She also took part in a STEM project for teaching children about the ongoing effort to clean up Lake Titicaca.
