The process of making these super cute
*Christmas Ornaments*

Greenware
-I started out by rolling out a slab of clay and pressing in the design. Using a canning jar lid, I cut out each circle out and used a needle tool to carve out the little circle on the top for the string I'll put on at the end. After letting them dry to leather hard, I cleaned up the edges. Once completely dry, I then threw them into the kiln for the first fire.

Bisque ware
-When fired, the soft greenware turns into a stronger bisque ware and is now ready to be glazed. For this piece I painted a red underglaze on both sides and left it to dry. After threeish cotes, I used a damp sponge to clean off the underglaze from the tops of the imprint to reveal the cute Christmas design. I then painted on 3 coats of a clear glaze on the one designed side to make it shine. At this point the ornaments are ready to be fired for it's second time.

Glazed ware
-This hotter fireing petrifies the clay and, through this chemical reaction, melts the glaze into the piece and makes the colors of the glaze become more bold.
-This is how they look when they're done!

Finishing
-At this point, I braded some string and looped it through the hole and tied a knot at the top
