Split Apart Secondhand

Most of the content I post is for my business, sometimes about my family. But as a business owner, a mother, a woman who is white, it is my responsibility to speak up.

America is racist. And we must do everything we can to be anti-racist, allies, and accomplices to Black people and people of color. It is our responsibility to make sure we challenge racism anytime we see it - in our world, our communities, our friends and family, ourselves.

I am not perfect in this and I'm challenging myself on my own internal bias. I will no longer be silent in the face of daily atrocities, microagressions, racist jokes. I will challenge your language, your assumptions, your antiquated ideas. If you cannot challenge yourself and others to do the same, if you refuse to challenge your world view you've so enjoyed because of your race, you are the problem and I don't want you in my life, my children's lives, or my business.

White America, we need to do better.

Happy mother's day to all the badass mamas I know, to those trying to conceive, to those who adopted or want to adopt, to those who never wanted to be mothers, to those who choose not to be, to those who married into it. To everyone who didn't have the kind of mother they deserved, who miss their mamas, who didn't have mamas. This can be a difficult day, so be kind to each other but also be kind to yourselves 🖤
