At HSI, Hope Scholars Initiative we know culture ain’t just what we bring into schools—culture is the foundation.

And when scholars can honor where they come from, speak their truth, and dream out loud, everybody wins.

Here’s to another year of showing up, pouring in, and making sure the next generation knows: their story matter, their voice carry weight, and their future is theirs to write.

Event: Association of Independent Schools New England Conference

10 weeks. 15 scholars. 4 graduating seniors. 🎓🎶

Through Album Club, Ocean State Academy scholars explored music as a tool for literacy, self-expression, and social-emotional growth. By analyzing lyrics, sharing stories, and creating their own narratives, they learned that they have the power to challenge labels, redefine expectations, and write the next chapter of their lives.

Music isn’t just entertainment—it’s education, healing, and a pathway to possibility. We’re proud of every scholar who found their voice and every senior preparing to take their story to the next level.

Shout out to Papitto Opportunity Connection Leadership Rhode Island for the continued support

Growth looks different for everyone! But for our guy Landon, it meant finding his voice and stepping into leadership.

For 8 weeks in our Creative Entrepreneurship Program, Landon built his résumé, received professional headshots, strengthened his confidence, and embraced every opportunity to grow. His Leadership recognition reflects not just achievement, but consistency, character, and authenticity.

In honor of Men's Mental Health Awareness Month Our guy Hope had the pleasure of serving on the Revive Therapeutic Services Men's Mental Health panel last week. It is always a plus to carve space for our men to have authentic conversation and create fellowship.

8 weeks. 25 scholars. Countless ideas brought to life.

We’re proud to celebrate the completion of the Creative Entrepreneurship Program — an experience designed to empower young creatives with the tools, mindset, and confidence to turn their passions into purpose. From branding and storytelling to collaboration and leadership, our scholars showed up with vision and determination every week.

Special thank you to the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket for partnering with us to create a space where creativity, entrepreneurship, and youth development could thrive. Resumes were developed. Scholars identified their strengths taking the HSI strength survey.

Congratulations to Landon and Meghan for being recognized for Leadership and Emerging Entrepreneurs! Your commitment, growth, and example inspired the entire cohort

Welcome Ashley to the Hope Scholars Initiative team!

We’re excited to introduce Ashley, our new Data & Research Intern from Brown University. Ashley will support HSI’s Case for Support through research, data analysis, and strategic development focused on youth wellness, literacy, workforce development, social emotional learning, and justice-involved youth outcomes.

Her work will help strengthen the data and storytelling behind HSI’s innovative and culturally responsive programming while aligning with statewide and national priorities around education and workforce development.

We’re looking forward to building together and continuing to create meaningful impact for young people across our communities.
