STERICYCLE & SHRED-IT TEAMSTERS RATIFY CONTRACTS

Local 251 members at Stericycle in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, have overwhelmingly ratified a new four-year Collective Bargaining Agreement. The second agreement delivers an average wage increase of approximately 29% over the life of the contract, representing an average increase of about $7.50 per hour across the bargaining unit.

In addition to substantial wage improvements, the new agreement includes stronger job security, expanded safety protections, increased annual boot allowances, MLK Day paid holiday, enhanced hazardous waste protections for drivers and warehouse employees, stronger alcohol and drug testing language, improved vacation benefits, and officially brings newly organized Dispatchers and Field/Office Administrators under the full protection of the Teamsters Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Local 251 members at Shred-it in Pawtucket, Rhode Island have overwhelmingly ratified a new four-year Collective Bargaining Agreement. The second agreement delivers an average wage increase of more than 31% over the life of the contract, representing an average increase of $7.00 per hour across the bargaining unit.

In addition to the substantial wage improvements, members secured stronger just cause and investigatory interview protections, enhanced DriveCam protections, increased annual boot allowances, a new MLK Day paid holiday, improved paid vacation benefits, new driver safety and fatigue protections, DOT physician choice, enhanced backup camera maintenance requirements, stronger alcohol and drug rehabilitation protections, and new language requiring the Company to consider mitigating circumstances before issuing discipline in preventable accident cases.
