This week the brothers of Beta Omega Chi would like to take a moment each day to recognize each of our 5 seniors and congratulate them all on graduating. Last, but certainly not least, we recognize senior Jabril King Mahdi.

Jabril has dedicated a significant amount of his personal time to the development of Beta Omega Ch, serving most recently as the 5th President of the fraternity. As President, Jabril was instrumental in planning internal bonding events throughout the fall and into the spring despite difficulties attributed to moving the semester online. He also helped significantly increase membership numbers and worked with the University to finalize a plan to help move Beta Omega Chi to the front of Olney House at the top of Wriston Quad beginning next semester.

Jabril has been an integral part of Black student orgs for the entirety of his collegiate career, serving previously as co-President of the Brotherhood as well as consistently serving as a mentor both in official and unofficial capacities for younger Black students at Brown. Most recently, his efforts were recognized as he received the prestigious 2020 Joslin Award, given to graduating seniors who have contributed in a very significant way to quality of student life here at Brown.

Congratulations Jabril!

Celebrating Our Graduating Seniors!!

Although we couldn’t be together to properly celebrate commencement, this week the brothers of Beta Omega Chi would like to take a moment each day to recognize each of our 5 seniors and congratulate them all on graduating. Today we recognize senior Kobi Johnson.

Kobi has been an important part of our brotherhood, serving most recently as our VP this year. Outside of BOX, he is member of the Track and Field team here at Brown running the 60m hurdles and 110m hurdles. He was also a member of Shades of Brown, one of Brown’s premier a ca****la groups.

Congratulations Kobi!
