Week one of Beyond U Summer camp was great fun! Students participated in nature and water exploration activities by visiting the beach, kayaking, visiting Water Wizz, and when the weather didn't cooperate, they went to Sky Zone!

We are developing a clear and sustainable plan to continue serving young people who are not finding success in their current educational setting and those who have been retained in grade. We are also preparing communication materials that will outline our vision and explain how families, friends, and supporters can stay involved and help us build these new pathways forward.

Last Thursday, we celebrated UCAP students at our annual Closing Ceremony event signaling the end of the 2026 school year. We are so proud of every student and what they accomplished this year! The future is bright for every UCAP student!

Special thanks to Paula DeBlois, Fund for UCAP Board Chair, who addressed our students and encouraged them to remember the lessons and come back to UCAP if they need help or advice. We honored Lori Autiello-Daignault, School Counselor at Nathanael Greene Middle School, with the Friend of UCAP Award for her involvement with UCAP and identifying students who would benefit from attending The UCAP School.

This is what fellowship looks like at UCAP! A number of staff members represented UCAP at the City Year Rhode Island Red Jacket GALA. This is UNITY. We all showed up for City Year's mission to serve, and for UCAP's vision to level the playing field! This is COMMUNITY! We all showed up to serve a student, Maurliyah C, who received the Young Hero Award, which represents a youth leader who is a pillar to their community. This is ACHIEVEMENT, and together we show POSSIBILITY!
