💥There's still time to submit a design for this year's International Overdose Awareness Day T-shirt competition! 💥

Help us create a shirt that honors those we've lost and raises awareness about overdose prevention. The selected design will be worn by staff, clients, volunteers, and community members at events across Rhode Island on August 31 and September 1 as we come together to commemorate International Overdose Awareness Day.

This year’s theme is: “25 years on. Still needed.”

We’re looking for designs that reflect this year’s theme along with community, love, loss, hope, stigma reduction, and the importance of continuing this work every day.

The winning designer will receive a $500 prize and their artwork will be featured on this year’s shirts. A community committee will review all submissions and select the final design.

➡Submission deadline: June 12
➡Winner announced: June 25
➡How to submit: Email a .png and vector format of your design to [email protected]

We can't wait to see what you come up with! 😍🥰

On Harm Reduction Day, May 7th, our team had the opportunity to slow down and spend meaningful time together through drama therapy provided by 2nd Act and a delicious meal generously donated by PONI.

The day felt especially meaningful as we celebrated two of our staff members, Tyrone and Nicole, who both earned their bachelor’s degrees this week. Watching them reach this milestone, especially while they continue to give so much to our community every day, was really special. We’re incredibly proud of them and grateful to share these moments together as a team. 💜

Today on Harm Reduction Day, we reflect on the impact of our work and why it matters.

Since opening the overdose prevention center, 900 individuals came through our doors across 12,016 visits. During that time, our team intervened in 207 life-threatening situations.

As our Deputy Director, Ashley Perry, shared:
“As we reflect on this year, we are reminded why this work is so deeply personal. Our collective grief brought us here. We continue to honor the fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, and loved ones lost too soon to overdose. Their lives are not forgotten. They live on in this space and in our ongoing commitment to prevent further loss.”

Thank you for standing with us and helping us carry this work forward. Happy Harm Reduction Day. 💜✌
