It's going to be dangerously hot the next few days, for you and your technology.
Here are a few tips to help keep you and your tech safe!

For you:

1. Set hydration reminders - It can be easy to forget, use your phone to ping you often to drink water. Especially if you're outside.

2. Turn off and unplug non-essentials - Especially if you're cranking the AC, save as much energy as possible to help avoid a power outage.

For your tech:

1. Check your server room temperature - Overheating can shut down systems and shorten your tech's lifespan.

2. Watch for power grid strains - Heatwaves push power grids hard, make sure your backup power source is available and your data backups are secure.

3. Don't leave tech in hot cars - The batteries can explode and release dangerous chemicals into the air.

4. Give equipment room to breathe - Fans, vents, servers, all need airflow. Make sure they are not obstructed.

🚨 If your business uses Ubiquiti UniFi networking equipment, pay attention. 🚨
The U.S. government's cybersecurity agency (CISA) just issued a warning:

Active attacks are being carried out against a serious flaw in Ubiquiti's UniFi OS, which powers a lot of the routers and network controllers used by small and mid-size businesses.

Here's what that means in plain terms: 👇

An attacker who can reach your network could make unauthorized changes to your system. That includes altering settings, disabling security controls, or manipulating how your network behaves.

And it gets worse. Two additional flaws were also flagged. One lets an attacker read or tamper with files on the device. Another lets them run their own commands on it entirely.

Together, these three vulnerabilities can be chained to give a hacker deep access to your network.

CISA says the access gained through these flaws matches the playbook ransomware attackers typically follow.

The deadline to patch is today, June 26th.

If you're running UniFi equipment and aren't sure your firmware is up to date, now is the time to check. Exposing your network management interface to the internet without patching this is a serious risk.
