Letters For Luca

I had always heard of some people writing letters to loved ones, in some form or fashion, so that formed the basis of what I wanted to do. I planned on writing handwritten letters, at no particular interval, to be sealed and dated for opening at some future point in Luca's life. Becoming a teenager, his first car, graduating High School, going to college, finding the love of his life, and so forth

This past Friday was drop-off day for the Adopt-A-Family program at Dallas Children’s Medical Center. The physicians, nurses, and the entire team at Dallas Children’s took amazing care of Luca, and all of us, during those 7 days. They do this day in and day out, for anyone and everyone; one of what has to be the toughest jobs that any human could ever have.

We were happy to be able to adopt not only a child this year, but their whole family. They provided a wish list, and we did our best to make that list come true, and give that family some happiness this year in the face of some tough times.

This is our 2nd year participating as a sponsor, and we were happy to provide for a little 4 year old girl who has neuroblastoma. It has been hard recently for the family as you could imagine. She will be waiting on a bone marrow transplant, in hopes to rid her body of the cancer. She has 2 young siblings, and Mom and Dad love them all very much and both work hard to provide.

It’s always a good feeling to be able to give gifts to a family this time of year in honor of our LucaBoy. We just want to make him proud of us, and we could feel him all the time in the days surrounding the donation. We hope to go on and do many small things for people, but to also start doing some BIGGGG things (in my best Luca voice).

We are just happy to be able to provide some sort of normalcy for this family this year, and we hope and pray for God’s healing for this little girl and her family.

Thank you again, as always, for your support.

Hello everyone!

We received some great news this week. One of the donor recipients that Luca was able to give the gift of life to, reached out to us this week. This particular patient received Luca's big, strong, and loving heart 💙. The patient has been doing very well since receiving Luca's gift. The family also wants to meet us, and we can't be anymore thankful for that. Just wanted to share this great news to you all!

Stay tuned for more updates on this, as well as more giving through Letters For Luca coming up in the near future.

Thank you all so much for your love and support always.

With love,
Chris, Erika, and our LucaAngel
