This year goes by many names: the era, the , the ... but what happens after 2020? Jeremiah Thoronka, sustainability entrepreneur at African Leadership University and summer journalism fellow at Business Today, shares his analysis on the future of the as economies plan to fuel their economic recoveries with —you guessed it— fuel.
2020 was anticipated to be a decisive year for before hit, yet unlike most of its harmful effects elsewhere, the pandemic brought about an unexpected silver lining with a dramatic reduction in GHG emissions. However, the global economic recovery in the post-COVID era could quickly undo this progress as countries look to fossil fuels to lift them out of the recession.
