Ingredients:
FILLING:
10 cups apples, peeled, cored and sliced
¼ cup (50 grams) cane sugar
1 tablespoon (7.8 g) einkorn flour or all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon (2.84 g) cinnamon
½ cup (118 mL) water
TOPPING:
1 ½ cups (120 g) rolled oats (I used sprouted ones)
½ cup (68 g) einkorn flour or all-purpose flour
¾ cup (160 g) packed brown sugar
Pinch baking powder
Pinch baking soda
½ cup (120 g) softened butter
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C).
Place the sliced apples in a large bowl. Add the cane sugar, 1 tablespoon of flour, cinnamon and water. Stir well.
In a large bowl combine the rolled oats, ½ cup of flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and baking soda. Stir in the softener butter and mix until crumbly. Top the apples with this mixture.
Bake for about 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the apples are fork tender. Serve warm, and a la mode if you wish!
