A very special thank you...

As you know, Loco just turned six years young. One question that came up a lot of the past couple weeks leading in to our celebration was, “How does it feel turning 6?!”. To be honest, I havent had much time to reflect on the studio’s transformation since its genesis. So, as I reflect to try to find the words on how it feels, I come across some resistance. It is difficult to put words to feelings. This feeling I get isnt one like fear (I have had plenty of that), or excitement (I have experienced plenty of that too). Its more one of those emotions you feel deep within your soul, and it just gives you a great sense of peace. Locomotion has been through a lot, we opened six months before the COVID 19 shutdown, had trouble with our landlords, had to restart from scratch, and now manage all the nuances of a charming old garage. But at the center of its whole journey, one thing has remained consistent, and that is you all. When people comment about the Community of Loco, they are talking about you. You, your friends, your peers, your workout buddies. Without you, there is no Loco. All along this journey, I have been able to trust in myself, because of the immense support I feel from you.

So, how does it feel to turn 6? It feels supportive. It feels connected. How do I feel about Loco turning 6? I feel grateful. I feel indebted. And I am in awe of the tangible feeling that a community can put to an old, empty garage. Totally transforming it to a warm, inviting, loving and welcoming space.
