Rounding out Irish American Heritage month and Women’s History month, here is one more prominent figure in Irish history, Grace O’Malley. She is often referred to as the Pirate Queen of Ireland. She was born in County Mayo. She was in charge of many fleets following her father’s death in spite of having a brother.
