Sunday Tech Nostalgia: Microsoft Encarta 📚💿

Before Google and Wikipedia, there was Microsoft Encarta—an entire multimedia encyclopedia packed onto a CD-ROM!

First released in 1993, Encarta made researching a school project feel almost futuristic. It featured thousands of articles along with photographs, maps, audio clips, videos, and interactive content—all without needing an internet connection.

Microsoft released updated editions for years, but as free online information became widely available, Encarta was eventually discontinued in 2009.

A few easy ways to keep it running cool:
✅ Keep air vents free of dust
✅ Don't block vents on blankets or couches
✅ Avoid leaving laptops in hot cars
✅ Make sure fans are working properly
