7:15pm: DOORS OPEN
Please feel free to come early, sign in, warm up, and hang out!

7:30-8:30pm: COUNTRY SWING LESSONS
Choose between a beginner or an intermediate class. There will be a demo at 7:30 to help you pick. We by default use rotating partners, so you don’t need to come with a partner to participate. The lessons are different each week and include a mix of moves and patterns, timing and musicality, and techniques like footwork, frame, flow, connection, communication, and move selection. You don’t need any of these to dance country swing… but you do need them to dance it well, and in a way that feels good in your body and frees you to be responsive to your partner and the music. For the last twenty minutes, the classes rejoin for guided practice to music. We'll play short sections of songs so you can work on moves and techniques as you meet and dance with different people.

8:30-11:00pm: SOCIAL DANCE
Music is a variety of genres to support primarily country swing, line dancing, and west coast swing. It’s loud enough to feel, but quiet enough to have a conversation. If you check this page, there will be opportunities to learn the line dances that we dance out on the floor. There’s some cool ones…

For inclusivity: this is a no-alcohol event. You may bring other food and drink though… we have some counter space and a sink. This is our agreement with the event center, and is also a part of including people below 21.

Price -- $10 for the lesson (1.5 hours), $10 for the social (2.5 hours), or $15 dollars for both. If this price would stop you from coming, PLEASE send me a message and we can work something out, like perhaps volunteering. We believe that money shouldn’t prevent you from dancing here :) There is also a subscription option to make coming every week more financially sustainable. Space – We have a nice dance floor. It is for dancing. If you aren’t dancing, we have other wonderful spaces for you to use 😉 Dance etiquette allows people to be free to enjoy their own dance. Location – Dance Now Studio
