HELLO PHO • BANH MI • BOBA — A POP-ART TAKE ON VIETNAMESE STREET CULTURE

Hello Pho - Banh Mi • Boba brings the energy of Vietnamese street culture into a bold contemporary setting.

The first visual statement of the space is a large-scale Pop-art mural featuring a stylish Vietnamese girl holding bánh mì and boba against an abstract Ben Thanh Market backdrop. More than decoration, the artwork becomes an instant brand identity-playful, vibrant, and impossible to miss.

At the ordering area, raw corrugated metal is contrasted with neon orange detailing and dark wood ceiling finishes, creating a youthful industrial atmosphere. A strategically placed self-order kiosk helps organize customer flow during busy hours while keeping the circulation open and efficient.

The result is a space that feels dynamic, approachable, and unmistakably modern Vietnamese.

POKÉ BAR KATSU — THE MATERIALITY OF TASTE

Poké Bar Katsu embraces a clean and honest material palette to elevate the dining experience.

Raw concrete flooring, natural ash wood, and subtle marble surfaces come together in quiet balance, allowing texture and light to become the focus of the space.

The feature wall typography interacts naturally with light and shadow throughout the day, while the slate-grey banquette seating anchors the interior with both comfort and visual stability.

At Poké Bar Katsu, simplicity becomes the strongest design statement.

UME CAFE — CONTRAST WITHIN A LINEAR SPACE

UME Cafe explores the contrast between Brutalist textures and modern luxury within a narrow floor plan.

Layered walls and mirrored stainless steel help visually expand the space, while the balance between cement-look surfaces, warm wood, and reflective materials creates depth without overwhelming the interior.

A carefully planned lighting system enhances every texture and reflection, turning the compact café into a refined spatial experience.

BETTER DAYS CAFE - THE LANGUAGE OF CURVES & COBALT BLUE

Better Days Cafe is a study in modern minimalism-where curves, light, and color shape the entire experience.

A bold archway softly separates the energetic bar area from the quieter seating space, creating a smooth visual flow throughout the café. Clean white surfaces and polished concrete are balanced with warm wood finishes, while cobalt blue accents bring a vibrant contemporary identity into the space.
Layered lighting from technical track lights and glowing pendant fixtures adds warmth and depth, turning simplicity into atmosphere.

A restaurant is more than a place to dine. It is an atmosphere, a story, and a carefully crafted experience that begins the moment guests step inside.

At Crazy Sushi, HeWa Design reimagined contemporary Japanese aesthetics through a balance of warmth, elegance, and immersive detail.

The illuminated sushi bar becomes the visual centerpiece of the space. Warm wooden slats paired with luxurious backlit stone create a striking contrast—soft yet dramatic, modern yet inviting. Light flows through the surfaces like a quiet glow, setting the tone for the entire dining experience.

At the heart of the restaurant stands a blooming cherry blossom tree, bringing a poetic sense of nature into the interior. More than a decorative element, it softens the space emotionally, creating moments of calm while offering an unforgettable visual identity for guests.

Every detail is thoughtfully layered. Custom epoxy wood tables inspired by ocean waves introduce movement and texture, while traditional paper lanterns cast a warm ambient light across the room. Together, these elements shape a space that feels refined without losing its sense of comfort and intimacy.

For HeWa Design, Crazy Sushi is not simply a restaurant project. It is a spatial interpretation of modern Japanese culture—where design, emotion, and dining come together in harmony.

TOURBILLON NAIL LOUNGE — DESIGN THAT ELEVATES EMOTION

Interior design is never just about arranging furniture or selecting materials. It is about shaping emotion, atmosphere, and the way people experience a space.

At HeWa Design, we believe that every home and every business reflects the identity and inner world of its owner. Rather than chasing temporary trends, we focus on a quieter approach to luxury - where elegance is expressed through refinement, balance, and intention.

Tourbillon Nail Lounge embodies this philosophy. Designed as an elevated beauty destination, the space combines timeless materials, soft ambient lighting, and carefully curated details to create an experience that feels both sophisticated and welcoming.

From reflective finishes and warm wood textures to the harmony of gold accents and glowing surfaces, every layer of the design was carefully considered to enhance not only the visual impression, but also the comfort and emotional experience of each guest.

For us, true luxury is not loud. It is felt—through atmosphere, precision, and the quiet confidence of thoughtful design.

BA MEE THAI NOODLE HOUSE — BEAUTY IN EVERY DETAIL

Rather than relying on dramatic forms, Ba Mee Thai Noodle House finds its identity through carefully crafted details and thoughtful spatial experiences.

At the center of the restaurant, the open kitchen becomes an interactive focal point. Framed by modern grey ribbed tiles and transparent glass, guests are invited to witness the artistry of handmade noodle preparation in real time—bringing transparency, movement, and authenticity into the dining experience.

Above the bar, a sculptural metal installation flows through the ceiling like strands of Ba Mee noodles suspended in motion. More than decoration, it introduces rhythm and depth, transforming the space into an immersive visual composition. Raw concrete surfaces are balanced with warm wood shelving and refined metallic accents, creating a dialogue between industrial textures and contemporary elegance.

For HeWa Design, every project is an exercise in refinement—where architecture becomes a bridge between culinary culture and human emotion.

HECHALOU BEAVERTON — A TASTE OF TAIWANESE NOSTALGIA

HeChaLou Beaverton is more than a tea house—it is a journey into the nostalgic charm of 1930s Hong Kong and Taiwan, thoughtfully reimagined within a contemporary setting.

Wrapped in warm tones, soft golden lighting, and vintage-inspired details, the space evokes a sense of familiarity and quiet comfort. Every corner is designed to slow the pace, inviting guests to enjoy tea and traditional toppings such as grass jelly, black sesame, and matcha in an atmosphere that feels both timeless and intimate.

A defining element of the project lies in its fully customized furnishings. From counters to seating, every piece is designed specifically for the space, creating a cohesive visual language that reflects the identity of HeChaLou.

Beyond aesthetics, the project represents HeWa Design’s commitment to transforming brand stories into emotional spatial experiences—bridging Taiwanese culture with the everyday life of the Beaverton community through thoughtful design.
