Dear DDSC Players, Families, & Community,
Welcome to spring 2023 soccer! I'm glad your family is joining DDSC this season.

As of now, teams are being formed depending on the registration player numbers with taking into consideration coach and player requests. Currently, our player numbers show 34 teams: 12 Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten (PreK/K) Micro teams, 12 1/2 grade Micro teams, and 10 3rd-8th grade teams! Wonderfully awesome (and overwhelming since my husband and I are still the Interim Registrars)! We need you! DDSC runs as a Volunteer organization. We are asking for Parents/Adults to step into volunteer on and off the field positions. No experience is necessary. Training and lesson plans are provided!

DDSC has the greatest need for coaches specifically at the Micro PreK/K and 1/2 grade teams plus a 4th grade boys team and a 5th/6th grade boys team. Please reply to this email with any desires and/or questions to coach! All volunteers go through a background check for the safety of our players and community.

Some important Spring 2023 soccer information to remember:
A Coach/Parent informational "Family Meeting" is Tuesday, March 14th at Cherry Park School covered playground at 6pm.

Practices are in the evenings at a David Douglas School District field. Once a week practice for 3rd through 8th grade players with location and time determined by Team's Head Coach; Wednesdays starting Wednesday, April 5th at 5:30pm-6:30pm for Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade Micro players at Cherry Park School upper field.

Practices may start the week of Monday, March 20th through possibly the first of June. First, Micro practice will be Wednesday, April 5th from 5:30pm-6:30pm at Cherry Park School upper field.

Games are April through possibly the first of June. (No game on Easter (4/9), Mother's Day (5/14), and Memorial Day weekend (5/27-5/28).) Team game schedules will be posted under Team Schedules by late March/early April.

3rd grade through 8th grade play Saturday games in the Portland area. See game schedules under Team Schedules by March 31st.

Pre-K through 2nd grade play Sunday afternoon intra-league games at Cherry Park School. (No game on Easter (4/9), Mother's Day (5/14), and Memorial Day weekend (5/27-5/28).) Micro game schedule will be posted under Team Schedules by April 5th.

Ordered uniform kits will be delivered by the first game of the season to you.

Thirdly, DDSC Used Equipment and Uniform Coordinator Jessica Giannettino has put together a gear swap page. This is a community shared project hosted by one of our player's family. Please see if there's any gear that you can use and donate old soccer gear so that our players in our community can continue to use it!

The only way that this functions is if folks utilizing the swap contribute to the upkeep of the tracking document, found here. To pick up/donate gear, find the item(s) you'd like, text Jess at (618) 694-8082 to arrange pickup/drop off at her house in Cherry Park. Once picked up, please remove the item(s) you got from the swap, by deleting the entire row. To do so, right click on the number associated with that row and then delete. For Donations: Please add the items you're donating to the spreadsheet under the correct tab and size range (found at the bottom of the screen) and drop off at her house.

We're in particular need of size 1 cleats and can always use jerseys' your little players have outgrown! Contact Jess at [email protected] for any questions.

A $10 late fee will be added for orders after this date.

Volunteer Coaches and Team Managers' are needed and registration is open.

3rd through 8th grade fees are $95.

Late registration fee of $10 will apply on Sunday, February 19th after registration closes.

New uniform kits are $40. Each uniform kit includes a black jersey, red jersey, blacks shorts, and black socks.

Used uniforms and soccer gear are encouraged and available come spring.

DDSC continues to follow state and federal COVID-19 guidelines for outdoor activities as well as playing within Oregon Youth Soccer and Portland Youth Soccer Associations.

Hello DDSC Community!

David Douglas Soccer Club is a fun, low-cost volunteer-run non-profit recreational soccer club in our East Portland community for all children Preschool through going into 8th grade children. All abilities are welcomed! Scholarships are available. Volunteer opportunities are open.

Fall 2022 sign-ups are OPEN! now through mid-July at www.ddsoccer.org under "Registration." Please register your child in the grade they will enter in the Fall.

Practices start in August with games starting the weekend after Labor Day through the end of October.

DDSC is partnering with David Douglas High School soccer for this year's Summer Camp 2022: Monday, August 1st through Thursday, August 4th from 6pm to 8pm at David Douglas High School stadium field for $25 per player. To register, please contact Girls' Head Coach Amy McQueen at [email protected] Adult volunteers needed. Each volunteer will receive one camper stipend. Contact President Saundra Hardy at [email protected] to volunteer.
