Ryan Meagher

is arrival on the modern jazz scene. Shortly after the success of his second album entitled "Atroefy" on Fresh Sound New Talent Records, he attended the University of Nevada, Reno, to earn his master of music degree in pursuit of a career directing his own college jazz program. His third album "Tone," was recorded in NYC in between his studies at UNR. After completing his master's degree Meagher relocated to Portland, Oregon where he quickly became a recognizable force in the creative music community. Along with releasing his fourth record "Tango In the City of Roses," he has been instrumental in expanding the scene. He is a co-founder and Programming Director of the Montavilla Jazz Festival, Director of Operations of the Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble, Director of PJCE Records, Director of Portland State University's The Shed Summer Jazz Workshop, Editor of the Jazzscene Magazine, Marketing and Advertising Consultant for the Oregon Coast Jazz Party, and was interim Director of Jazz Studies at Mt. Hood Community College before taking his vision to the Lower Columbia College Jazz Ensemble. His fifth album as a leader is called "Mist.
