We are thankful for PAMANA TUHON CHRISTOPHER SAYOC, SR., the First and Original Tuhon, Founder and Creator of SAYOC KALI: The Art Of The Blade.

Developed 15 years ago and often imitated: The Sayoc - Winkler Knives RnD Hawk has cleared the way for modern hawk use. Prior to the release of SAYOC hawk material in the early 2000’s, there was no FMA hawk curriculum taught.

The Sayoc Pintado Compact Barung is not a replica or reproduction of the classic barung.

If you are looking for a collector replica or a cheap knockoff barung that exploits the makers and hustle their culture then look elsewhere.

The older blades exists to refer to a historical context. The old ways of smithing are lost to many hobbyists and some use subpar materials to make even cheaper knockoff versions.

In contrast, the unique design of our compact blades line are made for modern carry and actual use.

A whole system of tactics by many high level advisors inform its shape. The blades are made not to break. The weight and feel are for no joke blade users. Although, visual aesthetics are considered; the compact barung is not a wall hanger.

We used the term, “ Pintado “ because of the etched in symbols and markings. We unapologetically include the name of a classic blade due to its overall form language and we want to honor the culture by reflecting the needs for the modern world.
