We first met Big as a young lad, years ago when we built a fence for his family. Not long after, his loving guardian reached out when Big was in pain, and thanks to our Nelson & Ginger Veterinary Care Fund, we were able to help get him diagnosed.

Big had megaesophagus, a condition that makes it difficult for food to move properly from the throat to the stomach. It meant Big needed extra care, including special positioning when he ate, so he could stay as comfortable and safe as possible.

One of our wonderful volunteers, Tina, provided the special feeding chair Big needed. Big lived several more years being lovingly cared for by his guardian and under the advice of his veterinarian and after he recently passed.

Big was loved every step of the way.
