The smell of pine, the sounds of ocean swells, the colors of sunset. All these senses bring tranquility unmatched by any other source. Nature’s ability to rejuvenate our spirit, which is consistently being tapped by hectic, modern life, is remarkable. The places I’ve experienced rescued me when I was lost in the mundane. First date and family outing in a long time after so many changes and so little time. Haven’t felt like myself or pretty in a while. I’ve been working my butt off at ramp service. Which is new to me. People say it’s easy but it is not. It can be fun… but it’s not easy. I’m covered in welts and bruises. I’ve slept 8 hours in 48 hours. 8 or less hours between shifts. One day off in 10 despite being “part time.” Day 9 on the job I packed 1,000 pounds of cargo in the bottom of an E175….So for our date, I threw on a pretty dress instead of cargo pants. I did my makeup, I let my hair down instead of having it up for safety. Wore something flowy instead of oversized. Didn’t have it in me to wear anything but sneakers but Jack packed a lovely picnic and we had a wonderful time with the tippy noodle 🐕 . Happy to have made a sliverof time in between flying at a new airport, with a new instructor, in a new plane, work at a new job, while still working toward my commercial rating and running my business. Im pushing myself and pushing. ✈️

Happy World Pilots Day! Especially my fellow female aviators who put up with so much and bust through every obstacle. We are each others hero’s. ✈️ 👩‍✈️

A striking red sunset falls over the Oregon Coast. The colors are as vivid as coral reef against the deep purple waters.
