👑 Save the date: Wed, Nov 25th (the night before Thanksgiving)… Portland’s longest running, most cherished weekly Hip-Hop event turns 29 years old, and we’re throwing a massive anniversary party! Wicked Wednesday is Portland’s Hip-Hop sanctuary. A PDX HIP-Hop institution since 1997, and still going strong. Save the date! Wed, Nov 25th. More details coming soon. ✌️
A great moment from the Luchini party on Saturday night! My man J-Mack (of the legendary U-Krew) pulled up to the Spare Room to celebrate his B-day. By chance, I just so happened to have my copy of his hit record from 1989 in my crate, called “If u were mine.” I called J-Mack to the stage and I put the record on, and he spontaneously grabbed the mic and performed the entire song for us! What a special moment as the entire room lit up with smiles and nostalgia! I love it when things just come together spontaneously like that. Such a fun experience to have this impromptu performance take place at my favorite party (and my favorite venue) in all of Portland. 💯
J-Mack and the U-Krew have always been Portland Hip-Hop/RnB royalty to me, and also one of the first “New Jack Swing” type of groups from Portland to really earn success and obtain recognition on a National level.
Thanks for giving the people a night to remember J-Mack. Happy birthday and thanks for all you do. 🎉
