The name and café were Inspired by a 2013 volunteer trip to Tanzania, Africa. The idea that it *takes a village* to raise healthy children really stick with me, and I came home wanting to do something community-centric for my kids and the health of our family. And so Poa was created. First, as a family community café that organically morphed into a Wellness café as my kids grew and I became more involved with the idea of Food as Medicine. Good Clean, Simple Food.

Activists are calling for a national general strike on Friday January 30th to protest DHS and ICE raids.
We stand in solidarity with them and will be joining the National shutdown tomorrow, in opposition towards Ice. We have decided as a team to close.
Not all small businesses can close and we don’t judge anyone for not closing. Being able to make this decision is a privilege and one we do not take lightly.
