The Rock Dojo is a successful approach to learning guitar, and a rock ‘n’ roll approach to success. At the Rock Dojo, we inspire kids to play, perform, and compose rock music on the guitar. Based on a rewarding belt system, students begin at the white belt level and progress through five stages of achievement. At each stage of their musical education, students master the skills necessary to play, perform, and compose with confidence.

What happens when the world tells you to stay quiet, but you play anyway?

This winter, Rock Dojo founder Brian Parham brings RISE! The Legacy of Black Guitar Heroes in Rock & Metal to Multnomah County Library — a FREE, high-energy, kid-friendly concert + storytelling experience.

Through powerful stories and a live instrumental guitar performance, families will discover how legendary Black guitarists — from Sister Rosetta Tharpe to Tom Morello — pushed past silence, kept playing, and changed music forever.
