The cars of 2025. Coastal Maine has a real eclectic mix of automotive tastes. Classics, muscle cars, imports, exotics, trucks, hot rods, rat rods, lowriders, mintrucks, cars from all decades; you never know what you'll see drive past you or parked at the cruise nights that occur daily at different spots from May through September. I love it all.

It was a great night to take Dhalia out for a cruise.

Yeah... I named my 'Vette. You don't need to say it.

Before this spring, I really thought the sound of a V8 didn't mean anything to me anymore; that I had grown out of it. The memories from when I was a kid of Dad pulling the Z-28 out of the driveway and rumbling away on his way to work in the mornings had faded.

I also thought I needed quick steering, flat cornering, crisp shifts, and refined suspension to be engaged while driving.

Apparently, I was wrong on all counts.

This car is an unrestored survivor with a lot of original parts. It's downright scary to drive on certain roads.

That sound of that 350, though, especially when starting for the first time. The view from the driver's seat. The little extra effort the steering and shifting require. The occasional looks the car gets.

I hate to say it, but Dhalia has me smitten.

Have a good night everyone.

"Doozie"; 9.5x11.5, Prismacolor on Paper; freehand. A friend of the family asked me to do this portrait of the family's greyhound as a gift to his wife. The brindle coat on this beautiful dog is one the most challenging I've done. Cars will always be my favorite subject to draw. The more I do of these, the more I realize that animal portraits are a close second.

Have a safe and Happy New Year everyone!

I got to say "I was there!" for the 10th Anniversary Show at the Squire Loung. This was also my first time seeing the band live.

What did I see and how was it?

From the moment the band took the floor, (They don't play above the audience; that's not who they are. They're right there with you.), sound and motion took away all conscious thought. I've been watching perform since he was 17 and this is as loud as loud a band and as captivated a crowd as I've ever seen... and at 48, I wasn't the oldest person there by a long shot.

It was insane! It was silly. It made me smile.. The beats, the sound, the energy, the light emanating from below. It's after 1am in the town I came from the day before and I don't give a s**t!

That's what this band wants. They want you to show up, have fun, and just be you; who ever that is.

What a night! Thanks for tuning in.
