radical emprints

I wrote “A Grounding” in 2021, in deep early pandemic days. I remember getting up one morning and sitting down at my desk, sort of desperate for some guidance, direction, something to help me move with intention & principle no matter what happened next. I thought about all the lessons that I’d had over 9ish years of organizing in a workers’ center, all the actions I’d observed that folks around me were taking to stay both steady and ready to fight - and I made myself a list.

And when I first released A Grounding, several people asked if I would make “fight with the tools that are uniquely yours” into its own print. I did, and now for years it has been one that people really resonate with - grateful to be in conversation with folks about what sentiments hit.

Being in principled motion is an antidote to despair. It is so much harder to be in principled motion if you’re not working on being (some version of) grounded. So here’s a humble offering of ways to get grounded. See you out there.
