Kevin Kadar (1955-2025) was known for his incredibly fine painting, his articulate conversations on painting, and his genuine, kind spirit.
This memorial retrospective exhibit spans over 50 years - from some of Kadar's earliest drawings as a young child, to a self portrait Kadar made upon his college graduation in 1976, The Vacuum World paintings, Envelope paintings, figure studies, en plein aire paintings made during travel across Europe and USA, and his most recent paintings including the Bandiagara Escarpment series.
Kadar's paintings are imbued with a timeless, otherworldly quality, whether his subjects are dynamic nudes, surrealistic allegorical scenes or masterful landscapes which allude to his years spent painting and museum-going around Europe.
Kevin Kadar was a graduate of Cooper Union in New York City. His artwork is included in many corporate, private and public collections including the Tacoma Art Museum, The Oregon Historical Society and the Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University in Salem, OR.
