Loved getting to celebrate the opening of the Northwest Library in its new home!

This beautiful new space is part of Multnomah County Library continued investment in making our libraries welcoming, modern, and community-centered places for everyone. From lifelong learners to families discovering the joy of reading, this library is built to serve the neighborhood for generations to come.

Grateful to see Senator Lisa Reynolds, county leaders, and so many community members for the ribbon cutting—and excited to see this space filled with books, music, and people. Congratulations to everyone who helped make this project happen!

Senator Reynolds and I toured GreenWay Recycling, right here in House District 33!

GreenWay has been operating in Northwest Portland for more than 20 years and recently rebuilt its facility to achieve some of the highest recycling recovery rates in the region. Their innovative approach to construction and demolition recycling earned them the National Recycler of the Year Award, a well-deserved national recognition of their leadership in sustainability and materials recovery.

It was great to see this work up close and to learn more about how GreenWay is creating local jobs while advancing environmental stewardship in our community. Thank you to the team for the tour and for the important role you play in building a cleaner, more resilient future for Oregon.

Earlier this month, I had the honor of attending the Holiday Gathering with the 1803 Fund at the Portland Art Museum. I’m energized by the leadership and vision represented here and by what’s possible when we come together to invest in people, equity, and our shared future. Grateful to 1803 Fund and all who joined for a beautiful evening — it was the best event I’ve attended in a decade!

The 1803 Fund invests in and for Black Portland, advancing generational wealth, well-being, and opportunity through community-centered investment, ownership, and collective power. Their work includes revitalizing historically Black neighborhoods, supporting cultural heritage, and building long-term economic and community assets that reflect the voices and history of Black Portlanders.

Honored to join NAMC-Oregon for their 2025 Holiday Celebration, “Generations of Greatness: Building Impact. Creating Legacy.”

It was wonderful to connect with NAMC leadership, board members, and community partners, and to celebrate the next generation of leaders shaping Oregon’s construction industry. NAMC’s work to expand opportunity, strengthen workforce pathways, and build lasting impact across our state truly matters.

Thank you for an inspiring evening and for all you do for Oregon’s communities.

What a joyful way to kick off the holiday season in House District 33!

On Friday, I joined neighbors for the Downtown Portland Christmas Tree Lighting. It was wonderful to feel the energy and excitement building in our city, a real moment of revitalization and connection as we head into the holidays.

And on Saturday, I celebrated with the Pearl District community for their annual tree lighting. As someone who lives just up the street, it is always special to gather with my own neighborhood. We value community, creativity, and that unmistakable local love, all things that make the Pearl such a vibrant place to call home.

Small Business Saturday was this past weekend, and it was a great reminder of how important it is to support local Oregon shops and makers throughout the holiday season. Our small businesses are at the heart of strong and resilient communities.

I led the crowd in doing the wave, because a little joy and playfulness never hurts a community celebration.

Here is to a bright and connected holiday season across HD 33!

Representing our community—from the heart of downtown Portland to St. Johns and the Pearl—is a great honor that I am Thankful for.

I’m deeply grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me to advocate for safer, healthier communities and to fight for the well-being of our neighbors. This district is resilient, creative, and full of heart—and that spirit fuels my work every single day.

Yesterday, I celebrated Thanksgiving with Oregon Change Clinic. It mean a lot to me to make lifelong memories with our clients and to be a part of their journey. I’m sharing a few fun photos of our staff and me enjoying time together. I appreciate how they show up everyday for this work. Community isn’t just something we talk about—it’s something we live.

Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful and meaningful Thanksgiving.

During the November Legislative Days, I had the chance to sit down with community members, local businesses, service providers, advocates, and constituents who shared their experiences and hopes for our state. Serving on committees focused on behavioral health, economic development, and public safety gives me a broad view of what Oregonians are facing, and every conversation this week helped deepen that understanding.

These discussions also helped me finalize the two bills I’ll bring to the upcoming short session—bills shaped directly by the people doing this work every day.

One special highlight was a visit to the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training. Thank you to Director Phil Castle for the warm welcome and grand tour of the impressive training that supports the professionals who keep our communities safe. And yes—I did try out the push-pull training machine in heels. Once a Marine, always a Marine!

As we look ahead, the next Legislative Days will be January 13–16. I’m entering this next stretch thankful, energized, and committed to building a healthier and stronger Oregon together.

Representative Isadore encourages everyone to join in celebrating Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day by walking together, reflecting together, and talking with young people about courage, kindness, and justice.

In 1960, six-year-old Ruby Bridges walked into an all-white school in New Orleans, changing history with her extraordinary bravery. Her story continues to teach us that one person can spark meaningful change.

This work is deeply aligned with our efforts here in Oregon. Rep. Isadore was proud to serve as a chief sponsor of SB 450 (2025) — strengthening our state’s commitment to safe, inclusive routes to school so every child can get to class without barriers.

Take a moment today to honor Ruby’s legacy and uplift the values she represents.

On this Veterans Day, I honor my brothers and sisters in arms — and all who have served our nation with courage and commitment.

As a United States Marine Corps veteran, I know that service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off. Thank you to every veteran continuing to strengthen our communities each day.

Today I toured Self Inhancement Inc. Housing and had a chance to meet with their dedicated team to learn more about how they’re addressing housing instability in our community.

SEI’s work primarily serves Oregon’s Black community, providing not just housing but the wrap-around supports that help families stay housed—rental assistance, case management, and connection to opportunity. It’s a holistic, culturally specific approach that builds stability and belonging.

Hearing about the barriers they’re helping families overcome—and the partnerships that make it possible—was deeply inspiring. Programs like SEI’s show what real community-driven solutions look like and why investing in this kind of work matters.

Thank you to the SEI team for your leadership and for the hope you bring to so many.
