One year ago, The Gilded Tide was just an idea. A hobby. Something creative to fill a little space in my life I didn’t even realize was empty.

Somehow, that one small idea grew into something so much bigger—markets, late nights, happy tears, and a whole new passion that surprised me in the best way.

This year strengthened friendships (I truly don’t think I could’ve done markets without you, Diana 🤍), introduced me to fellow makers who quickly became friends, and gave me the absolute joy of hearing how excited people were about these shells and the stories they planned to make with them.

And to Joe Auger thank you for always helping me get over the finish line, making sure my setup was just right, and putting in the longest days on dad duty so I could chase this dream. I couldn’t have done this without you. 🤍

To everyone who supported, shopped, shared, encouraged, or simply stopped to chat… thank you.

2025, you’ll always hold a very special place in my heart. 🌊✨

I’m still on a high from yesterday.. my very first makers market at Thompson’s Point.

I was completely floored by the response and so grateful for the love. I loved meeting so many of you, and having people come back to the booth to grab more gifts truly meant everything. Hearing comments like “Oh dang, look at these!”, “I love all of them—it’s so hard to pick!”, and “Sue would love this!” filled my heart. Knowing my pieces are headed out as gifts and that my ornaments will hang on trees this season is something I’ll never take for granted, thank you. 🥹

A little Thanksgiving magic, Maine-made. 🦃

These oyster shell napkin rings are my favorite small touch on the table this year, a tiny moment of beauty before the chaos of dinner begins.

🍂 As the leaves turn, The Gilded Tide is slowing the waves just a bit… taking time to soak up fall with family and get shells ready for a very merry holiday restock. ✨

But don’t worry, I’m not gone yet! You can still catch me tomorrow on Commercial St. in Portland alongside the talented .does.art 🎨. Come say hi, snag some coastal goodies, and get a head start on your holiday gifting.

It may be the start of the ’ber months, but here in Maine blueberries are a favorite all year long. 🫐✨ We’re celebrating with a brand-new blueberry print, inspired by the fruit that never goes out of season.

Which one do you prefer—the scattered berries or the bold branch design? 💙

✨ Summer 2025 will always be the one I remember as the start of The Gilded Tide — amazing, fulfilling, and yes, sometimes trying. I built new friendships, strengthened old ones, and pushed my family (who never once let me fall). My kids and husband watched me embrace a passion and turn it into something real, and they grew proud of me in the process.

Here’s to the tides that carried me here, and to all the ones still to come. 🌊💙
