Mountain Shop was founded in 1937 by local climber/skier Everett Darr and his wife. Together they imported pitons and crampons from Europe and made climbing packs for their friends. Through several owners and locations, Mountain Shop has remained a locally owned and operated store, making it the oldest (that we know of) shop of its kind in the country.

You already know you can catch here at Mountain Shop on June 11th for his event, Adventure Lifestyle Philosophy & the Grand Canyon. But there are also lots of other outdoor community events going on this month that we’re super stoked to be a part of!

We’re getting ready for summer with lots of new items and changes around the shop - most notably: our snazzy new trail running area where you can find all of our running shoes, accessories, and apparel 😎
We’ve made more little updates throughout the rest of the store too with lots of new gear for all your spring and summer activities, so head over to the shop ASAP to see what’s new!
Lucky for all of us, it’s time to go hiking again, which means lots more content.
