Today, Maine lost one of its great public servants. The Honorable Gerry Talbot leaves behind a legacy of leadership, compassion, and a lifelong commitment to building a more just Maine for all people.

As someone who has benefited from the doors he helped open and the example he set, I know his impact will continue to live on through so many of us who now carry the responsibility to serve others with purpose, courage, and humanity.

May his memory continue to guide and inspire us as we continue the work of creating a more just and compassionate Maine. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who mourn this tremendous loss.
