30 years ago I think was a sophomore or junior in high school when the whole Pacific Northwest got absolutely hammered.

Late January, this massive snowstorm dumped snow everywhere - like, serious snow packs all over the region. Then it got cold. I'm talking a deep freeze that lasted like a week, maybe ten days. Everything was frozen solid.

Then February 6th rolled around and this warm subtropical jetstream came through out of nowhere. All that fresh snow started melting fast, and it brought even more rain with it. The ground was already soaked, the snow was turning into water, and then you add more rain on top of it?

Every creek, every little stream, all of them swelled up and started flooding into the big rivers. It was crazy. The whole region was basically underwater. Who remembers this?
