You can raise funds from your creations and if you are a nonprofit, Printboo contributes to each item sold... The idea for Printboo was born when Nunzia, the wife of one of our founders, wanted to create a photo yearbook for all the parents in her daughter’s class. Little did she know how complicated it would turn out to be! First, there was finding out who was interested, then adding up how many
books each person wanted (after all grandparents don’t like to be left out!) Next, came collecting the cash, followed by contacting customer services to see if there were discounts for bulk orders – and a way for each book to be sent out to different addresses. And what if someone changed their mind and wanted their money back? Finally, when all the books arrived, Nunzia had to drag them to school and hunt down each parent to give them their copy. What had started out as a nice idea, quickly became a huge hassle. If only there was a way for Nunzia to have created the yearbook, then shared a link so all the other parents could buy their own copy online. This got us thinking…
A short while after, a colleague was creating a photobook of recipes to raise money for a local charity – but there was no option for her to put a mark-up on the cost of the book and allow potential buyers to purchase it online. Nor was there an easy way for her to send the book to customers in other countries. This got us thinking about how to make it easy for people to raise funds for charities and clubs. We knew we could do better and make the whole process a lot easier and more shareable for all of our photo products. A few months later, Printboo was born!
