Portland Indie Con 06/30/2019

The first day of Portland Indie Con went without a hitch. About 500 fans of indie comics and games turned out to meet the creators of their favorite self-published or small press comics and to discover new favorites.

Today's the second and final day of the show. Stop by to pick up Craig Thompson's debut serial, Ginseng Roots, or any of the other hundreds of indie standouts. There's a comic book here for anyone who loves a good story, whether your tastes run to autobiography/memoir, thrillers, science fiction, fantasy, history or non-fiction.

You can also hobnob with creators first-hand, participate in informal (but informative) creator to creator interviews and learn various aspects of comic creation from some of the best artists in the industry. Plus, a couple of local podcasting crews will be on hand to provide some offbeat entertainment :)

All-day tickets are available at the door for only $7. Doors open at 11am and programming runs through 6pm.

The con is nearly here... And the audience keeps growing...

A brief recap of recent publicity efforts:

- Our Facebook ads have reached nearly 12K potential patrons and generated over 500 clicks on the website

- Last week's feature in The Portland Mercury yielded considerable positive buzz

- KPTV's Good Morning Oregon program will air a three minute segment tomorrow featuring guest of honor, Farel Dalrymple

- The Oregonian/Oregon Live will list the con in tomorrow's guide to "things to do this weekend"

- KGW will be at the show on both days to report on the con

- Two pre-show readings/signings will take place tomorrow night: Leila del Duca and her sister will be debuting new work at Books with Pictures and Conor Stechschulte will be reading from his latest graphic mystery at Floating World Comics.

The momentum for the show continues to build. Let's keep it going! Be sure to promote the show to your friends and fans via Facebook and other social media platforms.
