🎶 🎺 JAZZ AS BLACK DANCE with 🎶 POP-UP class this SATURDAY January 14th from 2:45-4pm 🎶 🎷

With origins in traditional Black vernacular movements, the class will be situated at the convergence of dance aesthetics from African Americans and Europeans in the United States. This class will have a format that challenges the dancer's proprioception, rhythmicity, and physical endurance.

Built from the scholarship of Katherine Dunham, Brenda Dixon Gottschild, Thomas DeFrantz, Camille A. Brown, Alvin Ailey, Ron K. Brown, and many other Black dance scholars and performers, Jones's Jazz class will celebrate the legacy of the Black (neo-African) forms we all know and love, Jazz.

Éowyn received her BFA in contemporary dance and choreography from The University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she studied closely with Dianne Markham. Additional training from The Juilliard School, Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, Utah Regional Ballet, and the RDA Craft of Choreography.
