The test will tell us where we must start tutoring to master your child’s missing skills. Most tutoring companies require their tutors to use the school’s textbook. What if the tutoring takes place in the summer? A textbook often expects the student to have mastered prior skills to be at the level of that specific textbook. So if a skill taught in a previous grade is not mastered, that year’s text
book does not reteach the previous grade's materials. It will assume those skills are mastered. We provide all curriculum and materials used to tutor your child. The results of the pre-test will tells us exactly where your child’s skill gaps are and what curricula is needed to address these gaps. We then work with you to identify what you expect TeachPro to accomplish. Do you want your child to be brought up to grade level (straight C’s), above grade level (straight B’s), or significantly above grade level (straight A’s). From this we are able to give you what we call our Parent Proposal. The proposal details information such as what skills your child needs to master to be at the grade level desired, the tutoring schedules available, what the tutor will do, and what you can do to reinforce the tutoring process with your child. All of our tutoring sessions take place either in your home or at a local library. Our tutors develop specifically tailored lesson plans for your child based on the formative assessment and the curricula recommended. Our curriculum packets are from a wide array of well-known national publishers. We are constantly reviewing the newest and best sources, which allows us to easily introduce better material as it becomes available. This ensures your child receives the best tutoring experience, with no bias to a particular publisher on our part. After each tutoring session your child’s tutor will enter the results into the our online management program. This information is pulled into each Progress Report given to you every three weeks so you can easily track your child’s progress. Imagine seeing the progress that takes your child from below grade level to above and beyond!
