This week’s Sharecast is here! CSA members can expect kale, broccoli, red beets, cucumbers, summer squash, fennel, and parsley in their share this Thursday, with the possibility of scallions, lettuce, carrots, and Hakurei turnips as well.

We’re also excited to share that we’ve partnered with Kiyokawa Family Orchards for a fruit share this season, and it’s open to everyone! Pick up an 8 week share alongside our Thursday CSA pickups, starting in July or September. Email [email protected] to sign up by June 30th.

Thanks for your patience as our team got back into the fields after an unseasonably warm weekend and a super fun Score, A Baker Fair on Sunday. It’s been a busy week of harvesting! For tomorrow’s pickup, CSA members can look forward to lettuce, Hakurei turnips, cabbage, cucumbers, summer squash, garlic scapes, carrots, and sugar snap peas. We’re also hoping to have scallions, broccoli, and lavender ready in time, but those are still a maybe.

We need your help! Score, A Baker Fair is just around the corner and we’re looking for volunteers to make it happen. We have openings for parking and safety, event registration, coffee, photography, general floating, and cleanup. If you’ve ever wanted a behind the scenes look at one of Portland’s most exciting food events, this is your chance.

We also have a Land Tending shift open this Tuesday, May 27th from 12 to 3pm. Come spend an afternoon on the farm restoring native plants, weeding, harvesting, and prepping beds.

We’re so excited to introduce the newest members of our farm team for the 2026 season!

After farming with us last year, Vicki Taylor is back for the weeds she left behind. She’s also a soil scientist who brings a wealth of knowledge to everything we do here. When she’s not at the farm you can find Vicki catching worms, swimming, growing melons, digging holes, butchering chickens, or preserving veggies with her daughter and pup in tow.

Anthony Francione is joining us for his first season at Zenger Farm. He comes to us from , where he spent most of his time doing tractor work, which is going to come in handy as we refine our tractor practices this season. Anthony also has a culinary school degree, so we’re looking forward to seeing what he does with the harvest throughout the season.
