Bird: Rufous-capped Motmot
Southeast Brazil - Atlantic Forest

It is an early bird, which usually sings at the end of the night, just before dawn. Those who don't know its song think it's an owl. Active during the day, it likes to scratch in the soil where it spends a lot of time. It usually stays inside the forest. It often flies in pairs, accompanying mixed flocks or ant runs in the understory. It measures 42 centimeters. With peculiar and striking plumage due to its beauty.

Atlantic Rainforest: Southern Muriqui expedition!
The southern muriqui (Brachyteles arachnoides - family: Atelidae), is a species of primate and is the largest monkeys in the Americas. The conservation status is CR= Critically Endangered (IUCN 3.1).

The southern muriqui, native to the Atlantic Forest in southeastern Brazil, exhibits a complex social structure within large groups. Adult males, larger than females, share intricate social relationships characterized by cooperation. This primate species has a distinctive appearance, featuring a dark brown to black coat, hairless face, and a prehensile tail used for grasping objects.

Unfortunately, the southern muriqui is endangered, facing habitat loss from deforestation and fragmentation in the Atlantic Forest. Conservation efforts involve the establishment of protected areas, reforestation projects, and educational programs to raise awareness.

Participate in this expedition to engage in wildlife photography of these remarkable animals within a protected forest. Additionally, gain valuable knowledge about ongoing conservation efforts and related programs.
