The entry at HILO, A single family home located just outside of Bigfork, MT near a meandering river. While the home is not located in a flood plain, the site is adjacent to one. Given this site condition, one of the client’s requests was to have the main volume of the house sit off the ground. This move allowed for the design to take better advantage of surrounding views and creates a treehouse feel to the home.
