June is National Pride Month, and at Lines for Life, that means more than a colored logo.

It means showing up for LGBTQIA+ communities the way we do every day: with affirming, judgment-free crisis support through 988.

We're trained to listen without assumptions, support without labels, and make space for whatever you're carrying — your identity, your history, your moment.

If you or someone you know needs support, call or text 988.

Mental health support is for everyone. Including older adults.

Loneliness isn't just hard on the heart emotionally. Research links chronic loneliness to physical and mental health consequences, including increased risk of depression, cognitive decline, and heart disease. And for many older adults, a quiet day with no one to talk to isn't occasional. It's every day.

The Senior Loneliness Line exists because connection is a health issue.

Our caring volunteers are here for a real conversation. No agenda. Just a warm, friendly voice for older adults who'd like someone to listen.

A heartfelt thank you to Portland Area Theatre Alliance (PATA), Portland Center Stage, and everyone involved in Tuesday evening’s staged reading of Marsha Norman’s ’night, Mother, a powerful work exploring mental health and end-of-life themes, in support of Lines for Life and other mental health nonprofits that are doing incredibly important work.

We’re deeply grateful to the organizers, performers, directors, community partners, and audience members who helped make this meaningful event possible during Mental Health Awareness Month.

We also appreciate Lines for Life’s strategy officer, Colleen Cadell for participating in the thoughtful post-show panel discussion alongside fellow community panelists.

Art and storytelling can open the door to important conversations about mental health, connection, and hope. Thank you for helping raise awareness and support for people who need compassionate care and someone to listen to.

Join us June 23 for our Military Culture Awareness & Su***de Prevention (MCASP) training. It’s for anyone who works with service members, veterans, and their families. This training is made possible by a $60,000 investment from The Boeing Company to expand military su***de prevention training across Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Many people from this community face significant barriers when seeking mental health care — including providers who may not understand military culture, language, or other unique stressors of military life. This training bridges that gap.

Training Details:
When: Tuesday, June 23, 2026
8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time
Where: Virtual (Zoom)
Who: Participants in Oregon and SW Washington counties only
Cost: $27.47 (Participants will be offered a $25 incentive upon completing a follow-up survey three months after the training)
CEUs: 6.5 continuing education units (NASW)
