Kayo’s Ramen Bar, located on North Williams, is owned by Kayoko Kaye and Matt Kaye. Japanese-born Kayoko heads the kitchen, and her husband Matt is the restaurant’s general manager. Though not an all-vegan establishment, Kayo’s has vegan options galore, including five vegan ramens, three vegan noodle dishes, vegan Japanese tacos, kale potstickers, and several vegan sides. Everything is seriously delicious! They also have a wonderful outside seating area that’s covered and heated in cold weather, making outdoor dining an option year-round. What we ordered — Miso ramen with tofu. I added corn to mine and my date added edamame to his. Kale potstickers — Hand-wrapped gyoza made from kale, green onion, cabbage, and ginger. Cucumber slices with house-made sesame dressing. House-pickled wasabi mushrooms.
