I cut each disc and then I had sand it to remove the burn and make it super smooth. Then I apply a durable finish to all sides to protect it from moisture. Each piece is unique due to the inherent nature of the wood material. Photographs are the base for most of the etching. The majority of the photographs I have taken myself, so there is usually a story behind it. The grandmothers line is dear to my heart. The last time I visited my grandmothers house after she had passed away, I took photos of objects that would remind me of her and the wonderful visits. I use those as base images for the beautiful patterns that have a really rich texture. I also love the outdoors so I have a line for wild animals that includes a buck, doe, spotted owl, bear, bird (of course), wolf, and horse. The next line is the place inspired images. This includes bridges from portland, New York, and other cities, as well as the plan view from the Chrysler Building, Portland airport and the Chicago alley. Wer have also added geometrics and magnetic lockets that are colored with spray paint and sealed with a durable finish. It is joy to create something that you think is beautiful, but even more inspiring when others can love it as much as you do.
