Portland Actors Ensemble is hosting Billy's Birthday Bash for 2026! We have two exciting things happening for Shakespeare's Birthday on Thursday, April 23rd.

If you're looking for a quick bite or dinner for the family, come by the Montavilla Burgerville on NE 82nd & Glisan between 4:00 - 8:00pm. 20% of food and drink sales will benefit PAE if you mention PAE and Billy's Birthday Bash when ordering. Be sure to sign the birthday card while you're there!

If you're looking to raise a glass and maybe say a few words, head on over to the Rose City Book Pub 1329 NE Fremont St, Portland, OR 97212. They are hosting a "Bring your own passage" Open Mic from 7:00 - 9:00pm . Come grab a table and some food and drop a few dollars in boxy, in advance of the event. PAE performers will be there around 6:30 and are excited to contribute to the evening. You are welcome to bring a passage to read, or simply listen and support. 10% of sales benefit PAE if you tell them "I'm a friend of Will" when ordering.

Join Portland Actors Ensemble’s 2026 production of As You Like It!

Portland Actors Ensemble is holding auditions for this year’s production of William Shakespeare’s As You Like It.

Portland Actors Ensemble is a non-profit theatre company, started in 1970 whose express mission is: “To bring financially accessible classical theater to Portland communities in a non-traditional environment.”

Details -
• All roles are currently open
• Volunteer non-paying positions
• All rehearsals will be held in east Portland, OR
• All performances will be outdoors in public parks
• The rehearsal schedule is April-June, weekend days and weeknight evenings, between 9 and 16 hours a week.

WHAT TO PREPARE:
You will be asked to read with others, from 2-3 sides of your choice, out of the nine found here: https://www.portlandactors.com/sides

IN-PERSON AUDITIONS:
Auditions will be in 10-15 minutes blocks.
March 21st and 22nd from 1:00pm - 6:00pm

Call backs will be on April 4th in the afternoon/early evening
You will be provided with an address after choosing an audition time.

VIDEO AUDITIONS:
Portland Actors Ensemble will not accept video auditions this round. If you cannot make the in person audition please email your headshot & resume to be added to our waitlist.
