(Spoilers for an upcoming episode)
Out of all the Harriet Tubman biographies I've gotten into this one was possibly my (PTP) favorite, because it expounds upon people and conditions beyond Tubman's immediate circumstances.

A lot of other biographies do a good job of trying to make Harriet Tubman into a God by pointing out her many great feats, feats which seems almost magical if you don't know the world around her... This book avoids apotheosis, which I think makes Harriet Tubman even more impressive, by presenting everything she does in a context that removes the magic. This was a real person, the world she grew up was atrocious, and it birthed our world, a fact a lot of biographies tend to blur in order to mythologize a woman who was already phenomenal.

Jus to put a fine point on it:
Luke Skywalker doing a backflip might be impressive to see, but he's a Jedi with magic powers, a film crew, & digital effects;
If I did a backflip you'd be legitimately amazed because you know I'm crippled, especially if I than do 20 backflips, and you'd just watched someone break my leg.
This book is like watching 20 cripples do 20 backflips by the time you get to the end... If that makes sense.

The lives of her family, enslavers, and the land around Tubman are fleshed out in a way that doesn't distract from the narrative of her life, instead adding depth & nuance to her life. It's a very wholistic book, exploring the history going on concurrently to Tubman's life, which I think grounds what's going on, and serves to impress upon you just how amazing what she (and many others) accomplished by showing how events shaped her actions and vice versa.
