We are excited to introduce our February 2026 Artists in Residence. Over ten days, this cohort spent time immersed in their work and in community. Artists explored identity through movement, puppetry, painting, printmaking, and beadwork, each following a path that connected personal history with new ideas.

Shannon Yu and Cia ALYXÅNDRA Ciale Charfauros collaborated on a movement piece blending martial arts and dance. Camille Cooper built a puppet from repurposed materials found on the land. Scott Taddei returned to beading, reconnecting with a practice from childhood. Sandra Lanz Sanchez-Penichet spent time painting and rediscovering her creative rhythm. Nadira Bitar created drawings, a linocut stamp, and prints incorporating tatreez patterns that honor her cultural traditions and her late mother.

As Nadira shared, “Caldera changed our lives. There's a before Caldera with our art practice, and then now there's an after.”

The Artists in Residence program exists to give artists the time, space, and community to reconnect with their creative voice.

We are hiring for the Caldera summer team.

Each summer, artists, educators, and mentors come together to support our young learners as they explore creativity and community. Seasonal staff help shape that experience by creating a space where learners can take risks, learn from one another, and grow.

Sixteen seasonal positions are now open.
