QO 2025 has officially started! Yesterday was an amazing first day: intros, room agreements, scene sing-throughs, and even a staging of a certain famous “wedding” in a dress shop. These singers are so prepared and seeing Melory Mirashrafi work with them is inspiring! Today is an Intimacy and Consent Workshop, and then some serious musical work.

Having this safe, q***r space to share ourselves and work on our art is a luxury these days and we are living for it!

Shows are Saturday and Sunday with tickets still available.

To our friends and supporters, QO will be taking a hiatus during the summer of 2024. With an upcoming change in my PSU responsibilities, it would not be possible to produce QO at the same time. After a year of settling into my new position, the plan is to be back in 2025 with a summer workshop. We had the great pleasure of catching Renegade Opera's preview of Adam's Run last night!

It's a comedic contemporary opera on climate collapse (socio-political + ecological) by Ruby Fulton () + . The perfect blend of classical and rock & roll, this work features many Q***r Opera veterans, music direction by Danielle Jagelski, and stage direction by Melory Mirashrafi.
