University of Portland Rowing

We got the go-ahead for spectators for our Duel race with Seattle University this Saturday, April 17th. Come enjoy the sun and cheer on the Pilots! Racing starts at 8:45am.

We have some great alumni achievements we would like to share! Veronica Nicacio, Class of 2019 and training in Saratoga, NY, broke 7 minutes on her 2k this week! Pilot Strong!!

Here is what she had to say:
"Honestly, I wasn't sure I wanted to continue rowing after college. Don't get me wrong, I loved the sport and will forever treasure the memories and lessons I've been blessed to recieve for the rest of my life. It was only in taking a year off of training that I truly was able to see that I still wanted more and was not yet done learning all that I wanted to. Training at the elite rowing level has been humbling and different than college, but nonetheless the same grounding sport. It was rough getting back in shape and knocking down new mental blocks that had come up, but after finally reaching new goals and PRs, I can now happily say I am back on track and ready to pursue new heights!"
